Going to class at Salt Lake Community College’s main campus has its advantages.
Taylorsville Redwood Campus offers access to programs and services that other campuses may not have. And any enrolled SLCC student can come and take advantage of these resources.
Here are four resources at the Redwood Campus that every student should keep in mind to help make their SLCC experience even greater.
Library
If you need a quiet place to finish your homework or do research, check out the Markosian Library.
The SLCC library system offers access to printed and electronic media — including subject guides and databases — with information that you would normally have to pay for as a non-student. The OneCard also serves as the college library card, allowing you to check out various items.
Library staff can help students find and use the different materials. E-portfolio support is also available.
Student Writing Center
After working hard on a research paper at the library, you can stop by the Student Writing Center to make sure it’s ready to turn in.
The center provides free in-person and online advising for all SLCC students enrolled in any class. Advisors help students proofread their papers and improve as writers. They can also assist with writing resumes.
The SWC at Taylorsville Redwood Campus is in room 129 of the Academic and Administration Building (AAB).
Lifetime Activities Center
Why spend money on a gym subscription when you can take advantage of the amazing facilities in the Lifetime Activities Center?
Students can use top-notch equipment to work out in the gym or use the courts for basketball, racquetball and other sports. A track on the second floor is a great place to take a walk.
All the facilities are open for students, faculty and staff free of charge with a OneCard.
Food Court
You don’t need to leave campus and waste your gas to get food. In the Student Center you’ll find the Bruin Bites Food Court and cafeteria.
The food court offers a variety of selections at reasonable prices for everyone.
SLCC will also add $10 to a student’s OneCard for every $50 they load onto their account for food.
