Campus dining is an essential part of student life.

A food court is a place where you exchange ideas, gather with your friends, study and of course where you take your lunch to gain the strength needed.

Salt Lake Community College offers a variety of food options — conveniently located on campus — to meet student demand.

Taylorsville Redwood

According to the Time Health, pizza is one of the most popular foods in America. For students who attend the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, the handmade pizzas from Pizza & Pawsta are hard to resist.

“It’s hard to pass by without stopping,” says Sabrina Bustillos, an 18 year old student. “I would go there every day if I could.”

In addition to the signature burgers and chicken tenders, the Champions Grill features a buffet that is a magnet for students who like variety. Make your own plate of vegetables and other side dishes, and the selection of baked goods are a idea for a snack.

Deli In The Den has a large choice of quality sandwiches, all made with fresh breads and ingredients. Students who taste the daily special will want to make many return visits.

Other dining choices at the Redwood Campus include Spanish food at the Nuevo Cafe and Thai food at the newly-installed Ekamai restaurant.

This award-winning Thai place will surprise any student’s taste buds. Give it a try and don’t be afraid to ask for a sample. The yellow curry chicken has the favor of the establishment.

South City

Students who visit the South Side Express can treat themselves without spending too much. The eatery offers light meals such as soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts.

“It’s the perfect kind of food when I decide to stay a little bit longer to study,” says Andie Thomson, a freshman at SLCC. “And for my meal, I usually pick the pasta boxes — they’re very light and with a dessert I am good for less than four dollars.”

Hot foods and drinks are also available for purchase.

Beverage options

If the meal you order doesn’t come with a drink, SLCC campuses have vending machines stocked with a large selection of energy drinks, iced coffee, water and soda.

For students who like a hot drink, visit Peets Coffee & Tea or Bruin Brews at the Redwood Campus for hot coffee. Other beverages and smoothies are also available.

As you can see Salt Lake Community College is always attentive to the needs of its community and ensures that students and faculty have the best environment to blossom.
