College students want to eat well and save money. And there are food places right around the corner from the Taylorsville Redwood Campus that do the trick.
For those who leave campus for lunch, the following list of restaurants let you fill your belly without emptying your wallet. Some eateries are the grab-and-go variety, while others offer places to sit down, relax and study for a bit.
Here are five affordable places to eat around the Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
McDonald’s is one of the cheapest places to eat around school. For just under $5 you’ll be able to get a burger, small fries and a small soft drink. Vegetarian options are also available.
McDonald’s is just a block north from campus on 4217 South Redwood Road.
If you are in the mood for Mexican food, Del Taco is the newest fast food place around school. You can buy a regular burrito or a veggie burrito and a soft drink for just under $6.

If you’re with friends and want to split a meal, Little Caesars is a great option. They offer a large pizza, breadsticks, and a 2-liter Pepsi for just under $11. If you bring your OneCard they will give you a tax exemption off your final purchase.
Little Caesars is located in the Carriage Square Shopping Center, 4124 South Redwood Road, two blocks north from campus.
If Chinese is what you are craving, take an easy walk to Ming’s Garden. For under $7 you can get one of their lunch specials that include an entree, served with egg flower or hot & sour soup, your choice of an egg roll, paper wrapped chicken or a cheese wonton, and with fried rice or steamed rice.
Ming’s Garden is just across the street from campus, at 4465 South Redwood Road.
Greek food is also an option for an affordable, great tasting lunch. You can purchase a combo that includes a gyro, fries and a drink for under $10. For people who don’t eat meat the Mad Greek also offers vegetarian options for around the same price.
Mad Greek is located on 4661 South Redwood Road, a block south from campus.
Thanks these are a lot cheaper than the school’s lunchroom. Arctic Circle is also not too far from school on 4796 S Redwood Rd. A combo meal is 6 bucks and cheaper than school and better too. Last time I ate at the lunchroom on the Redwood campus it cost me 10 dollars.
