It’s warming up again in Salt Lake and that means it’s time to shake off the ice, get out and do something fun.
Some people will say that Salt Lake is a dull town or there is nothing to do, but that is just not the case. There are many things to do around the valley that are fun and entertaining and won’t break your wallet in the process.
Here are three easy ideas to start the spring season off right.
Go to the movies
For the movie buff, there is a nice and relatively new Megaplex at Valley Fair Mall. What makes this movie theater stand out is $5 Tuesdays, where any movie at any time every Tuesday is just $5. The last showing is generally at midnight, but times may vary, so be sure to check the website for movie times.
Valley Fair Mall is located at 3620 S. 2400 W. in West Valley City.
Explore the aquarium
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium boasts some 2,484 animals, with 451 different types of species. And the Aquarium doesn’t just have fish — it also houses mammals and birds.
The aquarium houses four main sections: the Antarctic area, South America, Ocean explorer, and the local attraction that is appropriately named Discover Utah.
The Living Planet Aquarium is located at 12033 Lone Peak Parkway in Draper. Students can get a discount on admission with a valid student ID of $14.95 per day per person.
Plan a mystery escape
Those who visit the Mystery Escape Room will be placed on an adventure filled with questions and mazes and other challenges. Those who finish the event can get their picture taken and bragging rights. Different themes guests can choose from include Knightly Adventures, Murder Mysteries and Moriarty’s Parlor.
The Mystery Escape Room is located in the Gateway Mall, at 130 S. Rio Grande Street in Salt Lake City. Admission costs $29.95 per person. Book in advance on their website to reserve a time. No student discounts are offered but group specials are available.
