Fall Break gives SLCC students time to regroup

Some SLCC students may choose to read for fun during their Fall Break.

Fall Break is just around the corner and Salt Lake Community College students are choosing to spend their time away from school in various ways.

This year, Fall Break “falls” on Oct. 15 and 16. Some SLCC students see this as a final opportunity to take a quick vacation, catch up on schoolwork, or just enjoy the time away from school.

“My husband and I will be going to a football game that Saturday,” says Ashley Baker. “The [University of Utah] Utes will be playing the Arizona Sun Devils.”

Dillon Green will travel to Boston to be the best man in his friend’s wedding. Two days prior to the wedding, the group will ride motorcycles up and down the coast of Massachusetts and stay at Martha’s Vineyard.

“Then it’s a full on wedding party for that weekend. Pumped!” Green says.

Travis Swede plans to catch up on all of his housework and homework.

“This is because when winter comes, my schedule for work will go crazy and I will need what little time I do have to do homework,” Swede says. “Kinda boring, I know.”

For SLCC students who have no plans for Fall Break, just enjoy the time off — because after this week, class will be in session all the way until Thanksgiving.
