A B-Line shuttle bus was involved in an accident today at 200 E. and 1528 S. while en route to the South City Campus.
At 11:28 a.m. Salt Lake City Police were dispatched to a car accident near South City Campus. A B-Line bus had allegedly sideswiped the driver’s side of a pickup truck that was parked on the side of the road.
“The sun was in his eyes, and he just didn’t see it,” says Officer Kolva from SLCPD.
The owner of the truck was not inside of the vehicle; there were two passengers on the B-Line at the time of the accident, but no one was injured.
Bus 4620 will be out of commission for now. The B-Line does not expect any delays since another bus picked up the route.
The owner of the pickup truck, who identified himself as Martin, was on the job installing insulation at South City Campus.
“I was actually coming out to lunch and I thought, ‘oh that bus is trying to park close I better move.’ As I got closer I realized I’m going to have to stay here.”
Although there were no injuries, Salt Lake City Crime Unit was on scene documenting the accident.
