Students to be honored for their academic excellence

Salt Lake Community College students who have shown a commitment to excellence in their education will receive recognition for their achievements at the President’s and Dean’s Lists receptions on March 24th.  Students who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in a semester and achieved a 3.5 GPA are eligible for the Dean’s List.  President’s List recipients have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in a semester and earned a 3.8 GPA or higher.

Over the last four semesters, nearly 1700 students have earned this high honor and will be recognized on the 24th.  Invitations have been sent and it is expected that a large number of students and guests will be attending the event. To accommodate everyone, students and guests may either attend the afternoon reception at 12:30 p.m. or the evening session at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Event Center, Taylorsville Redwood Campus.

Putting great effort into making either the Dean’s or President’s Lists can be very beneficial.  When referenced on a resume, it can indicate to graduate schools and/or employers that the student is a hard worker, able to face challenges and succeed.  This program is presented by Academic and Career Advising, in collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators.

Congratulations to those who have achieved this significant accomplishment!
