She Said: There’s more to love than love

Love is in the air….aaaahhh. Such a sweet scent of bliss and tranquility – not to mention exhilaration. No, I have never been in love, but I imagine it is really great. Love makes the world go ‘round – it really does. Without love, the world would be a miserable place. And it’s not just the puppy love that people love, rather, it is that sweet, unconditional true love that matters.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and is much more than chocolates, flowers, kisses and diamonds. It is a chance to express to someone – anyone – feelings of pure devotion and love.

Shad believes all this sappy love stuff is a bunch of phony bologna – well, it’s not. Cupid isn’t even real, and you can’t expect him to shoot arrows into people so they fall in love. Superficial love only goes skin deep, but unconditional love dives right into the heart. It makes the sky blue, the trees sway and lovebirds sing. The idea of loving someone, not matter what happens, is magical.

Without this beautiful type of love, the world would be an absolute mess – like it already is, but it would much worse. The phrase, “love conquers all” has truth to it.

I don’t have a male love interest, but I love my sisters, which is just as good. Love can be found anywhere, not just in sappy love relationships. Of course, it’s nice to be in love with the opposite or same sex and hold hands, and whatever you do when you’re in love, but the other love is just as important.

This Valentine’s Day, I hope everyone finds someone – or something to love. Personally, I have a love affair with chocolate, but I’m hoping I can find a living thing to adore. Maybe I’ll get lucky, and prince charming will come knocking at my door, and he’ll have in his arms lots and lots of chocolate.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
