Jan. 9, 10 and 11 marked Student Life and Leadership’s first events of the semester at Salt Lake Community College’s South City, Jordan and Taylorsville Redwood campuses.

Some events for the semester on Taylorsville’s campus include the following:

January 13: Bruin Pride Basketball Games at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

January 18: Date Night Movie and Dinner at 6:00 p.m. Tickets $2 per couple.

January 27: Bruin Pride Basketball Games at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

February 10: Comedian Mike Palasack at 7:00 p.m.

February 11: Bruin Pride Basketball Games at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

February 13: Build a “Crush Box” 11:00 a.m.

March 3: Bruin Pride Away Game at Snow College. Leaving at 12:00 p.m.

March 7: Grizzly Night. Game starts at 7:05 p.m.

March 10: Family Day Event 10:00 a.m.

March 13: National Oreo Day at 11:00 a.m.

April 5: Drive-In Movie Location. TBD

April 7: Easter Egg Hunt at 10:00 a.m.

April 23: Tie-Dye event at 11:00 a.m.

April 27: Bruin Bash

There are plenty of activities in the works at South City as well. The next one is Scales and Tales, a reptile and bird night. It’s free of charge, and takes place on Jan. 27, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Welcome Back activities included a Bruin Lunch and Breakfast where SL&L members served food designed to both pass on information and provide hungry students with a quick meal.

At South City they shared bagels and other food.

At Jordan Campus they passed out tacos.

At the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, SL&L served breakfast sandwiches just outside of their office in the Student Center.

Students who stood in the book buyback line were rewarded for their wait when trays full of warm bread with bacon or ham interiors were replenished.

The free sandwiches came with one condition: recipients had to promise to take a glance at SLCC’s upcoming events.

With plenty to look forward to these next few months, Student Life and Leadership is prepped and ready to go.
