Students, faculty and friends filled the amphitheater at the Salt Lake Community College Taylorsville Redwood campus Tuesday evening Sept. 11 to enjoy the syncopated rhythms and dance steps of the dance and musical group, Rhythmic Circus.
Recently named the the top dance group, Rhythmic Circus has won many awards, including “Best Dance Performance of 2010” and has toured throughout Europe and the United States. The toe-tapping, chair-slapping percussive beats combined with the electrifying dance moves had the audience whistling, clapping and shouting for more.
The ensemble includes four of the nations top tap dancers, a lively jazz/blues band and the amazing “Human Beatbox.” Aaron “Heatbox” Heaton, wowed the crowd as he showed off why he is called the “Human Beatbox,” by spitting out rhythms and lyrics, weaving them back together.
This is the second year the Rhythmic Circus has preformed for the students at SLCC.
