This past weekend, Salt Lake City hosted the Adidas Women Wanderlust 108 mindful triathlon and festival that included a 5K run, local vendors, and of course public yoga and meditation. The event took place at Liberty Park in the heart of Salt Lake City, where hundreds of yogis gathered for the day event.

The Wanderlust Festival was first held in 2009 in Squaw Valley, California, but has since grown to a worldwide scale, hosting events and partnering with local businesses across North America and Europe. This year, Wanderlust partnered with Sugarhouse favorite Seek Studio, who offered ten percent off festival tickets.

The day started with a 5K around Liberty Park, and with no competition in mind, many walked, ran, and even danced around the park, meeting new people along the way. With the heat, many took shelter under the shade while cooling off with fresh pressed juice and locally-made Kombucha tea. Yoga took place in the center of the park with renowned yogi Chelsey Korus, and finished with a mediation session led by Noah Levine, author of the book Dharma Punx. Each leg of the Mindful Triathlon allowed many to find stillness within and a sense of appreciation for self and others. Attendees attended numerous workshops throughout the day, on topics including acroyoga, vinyasa flow, music and mediation.

The Wanderlust Festival travels to many different states and countries throughout the year, and is worth a visit no matter where it’s held. Learn more at the festival’s website.
