Mark the dates on your calendar for two nights of performances by the Salt Lake Community College Dance Company.

Dance students will be joined by professional dancers from the Salt Lake area to perform “Forces of Nature” Nov. 20 and 21 in the Grand Theatre.

“This is a concert that will appeal to a broad audience with its variety of styles and energies,” says dance professor Tess Boone. “Everyone will find entertainment here.”

Aerial Arts of Utah, Municipal Ballet Company, Wofa African Fusion Dance, and Utah Tap Cooperative are among the groups who are expected to participate.

The theme of the concert focuses on the natural forces in the world that energizes all humans.

The company will use a variety of dances to interpret internal and external forces, including water, sensuality and intensity.

“Forces of Nature” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Grand at South City Campus.

SLCC students who show their OneCard and donate two non-perishable food items will receive free admission. All donations will be given to the Utah Food Bank.

General admission tickets are $10, but half price with a food donation.

To purchase tickets, contact the Grand Theatre box office. Business hours are Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. All forms of payment are accepted.

For special accommodations, call 801-957-3322 at least 24 hours in advance of the performance you plan to attend.
