Creating an SLCC Club

The process of creating a club might seem like a daunting task, but Salt Lake Community College has created an easy process to get your club started and recognized.

“It’s a lot easier,” says Anthony Bersamen, president of the Social Workers Association (SWA). “Even though the SWA was created two years ago, the school has been supportive.”

The first step to creating a club is finding a name, which should be kept simple and consider the goals of the club.

Secondly, the club needs a purpose or a mission. Thirdly, the club needs at least five currently enrolled SLCC students interested in joining it. Finally, the club needs an advisor.

After these four steps have been met the organizing students need to submit an application for club creation. Once approved, the president, treasurer and advisor of the club will need to attend a New Club Orientation.

This is a great opportunity to get students together who share the same passion, and create leadership environments with hands-on experience to help shape inspiration among the student body.
