On Jan. 30, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. Salt Lake Community College will welcome David Coleman, “The Dating Doctor” at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
He will arrive in the shadow of a certain holiday to come next month.
Coleman will be emphasizing the “steps to follow to ensure that all your relationships matter,” his website states.
He has set out to help students and give them advice about building healthy relationships, with suggestions that aren’t just for the lovelorn.
His press release states that he “will teach you how to form, mend and sustain meaningful relationships,” and that participants “will learn how to be more courageous, valuable, respectful, thankful, passionate, committed, spiritual, trustworthy and healthy.”
These are all applications that can be used to increase leadership skills, team building and personal coaching.
While his teachings can definitely be applied to areas outside of the dating arena, this appearance is intended to improve dating habits and experiences.
Some of the topics he’ll cover will be the real differences between men and women, issues of control, the “attraction factor,” topics of intimacy, how to increase one’s romantic tendencies and recognizing when relationships are unhealthy.
Coleman has a B.S. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel.
Coleman has also been named the National Collegiate Speaker of the Year thirteen times, and has appeared in numerous publications, including Us Magazine, Cosmopolitan and The New York Times.
