Salt Lake Community College opened the Tim and Brenda Huval Student Center at Jordan Campus. (Autumn Lucas)

"Our new Tim and Brenda Huval Student Center at the Jordan Campus has been in the news a lot lately, and we will officially cut the ribbon today at a safely-planned, invite-only opening event," President Huftalin said in an email on March 20, 2021. (Autumn Lucas)

"Many thanks to our countless student leaders, student affairs folks, facilities team, marketing and event planning folks, and donors who have all stepped up to make this building a warm and inviting space and a gathering hub for students." (Autumn Lucas)

Anyone can visit the center in person and take part in a self guided tour from March 18-25 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. This allows visitors to browse the building, its features, and artwork safely. Free swag bags are available to visitors, as well. (Autumn Lucas)

There are maps and directories throughout the facility to help visitors find their way to wherever they want to go. (Autumn Lucas)

There is a large event room, which will hold conferences and gatherings for Salt Lake Community College students. (Autumn Lucas)

The ePortfolio Lab is one of the many services that were previously unavailable to students on the Jordan Campus. (Autumn Lucas)

The Tim and Brenda Huval Student Center has multiple conference and gathering rooms for students and other members of the SLCC community to utilize. (Autumn Lucas)

The new Student Center provides Bruins with a number of new study spaces open, such as these study pods. (Autumn Lucas)

Students can reserve a study lab, so they have a quiet place to work by themselves or with some study buddies. (Autumn Lucas)

The STEM Lab provides tutoring and holds workshops for students, though they have moved their services online temporarily due to the pandemic. (Autumn Lucas)

Student Life & Leadership Center has a goal of helping develop student leaders and improve campus experience for students on the Jordan Campus. (Autumn Lucas)

There are a number of new spaces and services for students at the Jordan Campus to enjoy. Those who cannot visit in person are able to take a virtual tour on the Salt Lake Community College website. (Autumn Lucas)

Groups like SLCCSA have information available for students, as well as different treats and swag in areas throughout the building. (Autumn Lucas)

Once the Micro Market is up and running, it will allow students to get self serve food and drinks, all with self checkout. (Autumn Lucas)

There are a number of bright spaces in the new Student Center for students to eat, study, or relax. (Autumn Lucas)

The Veterans Lounge allows for veterans to gather and socialize in a place with people who relate to them. (Autumn Lucas)

There is now a Fitness Center on the Jordan Campus, open Monday-Thursday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. and Friday, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (Autumn Lucas)
