Student Life and Leadership recently restarted a popular lunchtime activity.
Salt Lake Community College students can play some of their favorite video games during Xbox Wednesdays at South City Campus. Student Life and Leadership renewed the activity after a successful first year.
“People just kept coming back for more and more,” says Anthony Bible, the North Region daytime chair of Student Life and Leadership.
Xbox Wednesdays give students a place to take a break in between classes, and more importantly, connect with other students.
“What we wanted to do was create a time and an event where students could come meet new people and engage with one another,” Bible says.
Students of all ages find common ground in the Student Life and Leadership office. Even faculty members can be found participating between classes.
“The best part is meeting new people from different backgrounds and just having everyone come have a good time,” Bible says.
While there are only a few games available, Student Life and Leadership will be speaking with players to determine what games will be added to the growing collection.
Xbox Wednesdays will run through the end of the school year. If the early reaction from the student body is any indication, there is a good chance the activity will come back next year.
Anyone who wants to participate in Xbox Wednesdays can stop by the Student Life and Leadership office in room 2-070 at the South City Campus between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
