With classes now in full swing, many Salt Lake Community College students are thinking about ways to have fun at school.

SLCC has a wide array of clubs for all interests and outreaches. And if no existing clubs match up with the interests of a student, they can start their own club as well.

“Clubs are one of the greatest ways to get involved with something that you love, or even to help our community,” says Ana Brown, vice president of clubs and organizations. “You can have so much fun trying something new that you have never done before.”

Students who want to start a new club will need at least five other students to join the club and a full-time SLCC faculty member to serve as an advisor. The SLCC Student Association Executive Council will give final approval.

Join a club at Club Rush

Dozens of SLCC clubs will be recruiting new members during Club Rush next week. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to join the clubs of their choice.

“We are so excited to see what kind of a turn out we will get this year at Club Rush,” Brown says. “The past few years we have been getting more and more applications to start new clubs, and clubs continue to get larger.”

The three-day event begins Tuesday, Sept. 13 at South City Campus, continues the following day at Jordan Campus and ends Thursday at Taylorsville Redwood Campus. Each event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
