Salt Lake Community College offers a community service that supports anyone who wants to be a better writer.
The Community Writing Center, aka CWC, offers coaches and workshops to students and community members who need help writing or revising resumes, essays and other documents.
The CWC workshops are often requested by the community and taught by trained writing assistants. Specific workshop topics include grammar, blog writing, writing essays for scholarships, novel writing, self-publishing and more.
CWC workshops are held at their downtown location and at the new West Valley Center. Some of these workshops are free to attend, while others require a fee. The fee may be waived in case of a financial hardship.
Individuals must register with the CWC before attending a workshop. Registrants who need to cancel should call the CWC one week prior to the workshop; payments are non-refundable after this grace period.
Anyone interested in learning more about the CWC or their workshops can contact the CWC or call 801-957-2192 for details.
The community writing center is great but SLCC needs to improve on their math tutoring center and make it great just like the community writing center.
