Life as a college student can be particularly challenging if you don’t know about many of the things designed to make school easier.

There are a lot of people at Salt Lake Community College who are here to help students. Utilizing their experience and knowledge is bound to save you the headache of learning how to get into the groove with your college career, help you plan better and meet goals.

Advisors

First and foremost, if you have questions, ask. Advisors are ready to show students what classes they need and what it takes to graduate. They can also help students figure out their academic progress and transfer options.

Any students can talk to an academic advisor either in person or through online chats.

Student Express

In a hurry but need answers? Student Express can answer questions about admissions, enrollment, testing, financial aid and other basic student questions.

The Student Express also features a computer lab where students can set up MyPage accounts, perform class searches, register for services and evaluate their degree progress.

Student Employment

For students who want or need a job, there is a department dedicated to helping students find jobs and build resumes.

Current SLCC student or those enrolled as a student within the last year are eligible to apply for these jobs. Students must register for Career & Student Employment Services through their MyPage account.

Health Services

SLCC provides students with various health benefits through the Center for Health and Counseling, including medical care, mental health counseling, massage therapy and health education programs.

The Dental Clinic provides affordable exams, cleanings, x-rays and fluoride for adults and children. Dental insurance is not required or billed.

Occupational and physical therapy, or OTA/PTA Clinics, which offers free treatments for those who have limited mobility and range of motion and need ongoing rehabilitative services.

Club Sports

Students can team up with their fellow Bruins and participate various athletic and exercise clubs, including hip-hop dance, rugby, indoor soccer, intramurals and Zumba.

For more information, or if you want to start your own club, contact Student Life and Leadership.

Student Fitness

The Lifetime Activity Center offers a multitude of ways to stay healthy at no cost to students. The gym features basketball and volleyball courts, an indoor track, racquetball courts and a strength training room.

All students need is their OneCard to gain access to the facilities.
