After earning first-round byes, Salt Lake Community College men’s and women’s basketball will play today in Price, Utah in the semifinal round of the Scenic West Athletic Conference Region 18 basketball tournament.
The SLCC men (25-5, 13-2 SWAC), No. 21 in NJCAA rankings and a No. 2 seed in the tournament, will play No. 3 seed North Idaho College (22-7, 9-6) at 2 p.m. The Bruins defeated the Cardinals in their last regular-season game, 82-78, on Feb. 21. NIC advanced to the semis after beating USU Eastern 76-74 on Thursday.

In the women’s tournament, the No. 6-ranked and top-seeded Bruins (25-5, 13-2 SWAC) face the host team and No. 4 seed USU Eastern (19-9, 8-7) at 5:30 p.m. SLCC last played USU Eastern in Price on Feb. 7, beating the Eagles 80-70. USU Eastern won their first-round matchup against North Idaho College on Thursday, 66-58.
The winners from today’s semifinal games will play in their respective Region 18 championship games on Saturday. SWAC tournament winners earn automatic berths to the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Kansas.
