Prior to Saturday’s game one of the doubleheader, Coach Cyndee Bennett and the Lady Bruins will hold “Sophomore Day” honoring their three sophomores Bradshaw, Taylor Tann (Syracuse, UT) and Kellie McCleve (Glendora, CA) for the final home games of their Salt Lake Community College career.

After a week of no play of the Lady Bruins, they are ready to hit the field once again, as Snow College heads to town to continue their historic rivalry at Bruins Field this weekend. With a record of 31-17 overall and 29-14 in the SWAC the Bruins will look to extend their season on the up rise leading to the Region 18 tournament.

The series will feature a pair of doubleheaders starting at 1 p.m. Friday, May 2 and noon on Saturday, May 3. Game two for both days will start 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.

The last time these two teams hit the diamond was back on March 14-15 in Ephraim, Utah which was won by the Lady Bruins three games to one by a combined score of 34-11.

Live stats for the SLCC vs. Snow games will be available on the SLCC Athletics home page, slccbruins.com, under the Live Stats and Video Streaming tab.

The Lady Bruins team batting average on the season is .343 including a pair of freshmen hitting over .400. Freshman utility player Megan Reed leads the way at .415 including 71 hits while her freshman third baseman KyRae Kogianes is right behind her at .401 including 14 home runs this year.

Freshman catcher Riana Splinter is the home run leader on the ball club with 15 home runs and 66 RBI as sophomore Megan Bradshaw is also having an outstanding year at the plate hitting .388 including eight home runs and 10 doubles.

SLCC is averaging 7.42 runs per game including 9.71 hits per game. The Lady Bruins have only surrendered four losses at home all season.
