As a member of Salt Lake Community College, you have in front of you the opportunity to become one of the most interesting people in the world, and you don’t even have to drink to do so.
Lifelong learners make for the most interesting people in the world, because they are always looking for new things to experience. They have a thirst for knowledge.
The more experience that a person has, the more likely that person is to change in a way that is interesting. Change brings variety, and variety is the spice of life.
The most interesting people in the world know a little about everything. They experience life to the fullest, and they learn about things that other people would shun.
SLCC offers a wide range of activities that you can participate in for free with your OneCard.
You may not like sports, but you have an opportunity to at SLCC to learn about basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball. All that it will cost you is a little time, and you gain an experience that is different than what you normally partake of. Then when someone talks about a set kill or a dink, you will know what he or she is talking about, and you will be able to add to the conversation.
You may not know anything about politics. You can attend a “Politics and Pizza,” learn something about local politics and eat free pizza.
SLCC has plenty of different clubs that you can join to meet new people and learn new things.
As long as you actively participate with enthusiasm and an open mind, no one will be able to fault you for not trying. Even more importantly, you will be receptive to what the new experience has to show you.
If you cannot make the time for activities, reading for one hour a day in a particular subject has the potential to increase your knowledge and wisdom in that area.
As a lifelong learner at SLCC, you have the exciting opportunity to become more knowledgeable. When your time here is finished, you can take that curiosity and the skills you learned with you.
