Music on the Spot: Echosmith is taking their dreams into reality

Los Angeles band Echosmith, who just signed to Warner Brothers Records, recently released their album, Talking Dreams. The debut album is highly energetic with the booming female vocals of Sydney Sierota, who can be compared to such powerful female vocalists as Haley Williams and Debbie Harry. This album delivers an unmatchable indie alt-pop sound.

Echosmith is formed by siblings Sydney, Jamie, Noah and Graham Sierota. The siblings have in the last twelve months crawled out of their small, Los Angeles shell and have grown to this year’s breakout band on the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, where they were only arranged to play half of the tour but had such good feedback that they ended up playing through the whole thing.

Growing up, the young band members (ages fourteen to nineteen) were influenced by the upbeat sound of ‘80’s new wave music.  The band’s music was also featured in a promo for the 2012 Summer Olympics on NBC.

Echosmith is currently on their fall tour celebrating the release of their new album, Talking Dreams, and will be in Salt Lake City on Nov. 11 at the Murray Theater (4961 S State St). To find out more about the band, visit their website echosmith.com, their Facebook page, their Twitter and their Soundcloud.
