Student Life and Leadership recently brought OrgSync to Salt Lake Community College. Created in 2007, OrgSync is now the leading organization management software used in higher education institutions.
Similar to Facebook in function and appearance, OrgSync is the new platform for student organizations to inform the student body of events going on around their campus.
“OrgSync is basically Facebook for SLCC,” says Curtis Larsen, the director of Student Life and Leadership. “It provides the Student Life and Leadership, as well as student clubs at SLCC, an easy navigation tool to inform their student body about things that are going on at campus.”
OrgSync was created by Co-founders Eric Fortenberry and Cayce Stone in Austin, Texas. Originally starting with a partnership of only five universities and colleges, it has grown to currently having partnerships with over 200 universities and colleges in the United States and Canada.
Not only can students connect their OrgSync account to Facebook, sharing information with their friends by clicking share, they can also create an eportfolio that is linked to the tool tab on their OrgSync page. This is useful as eportfolios are required by all general education classes at SLCC.
Currently there are over 700 hundred SLCC students using OrgSync. For students who are interested in becoming more involved or just want an easier way to create an eportfolio, OrgSync is the platform for them. Just log on to https://orgsync.com, select Salt Lake Community College as the community and create an account.
