WOMEN
The Salt Lake Community College women’s basketball team fell 66-55 to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. The Bruins managed just 29% shooting in the game and were outrebounded 37-39 in the loss. Salt Lake is now 10-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Freshman Fawn Brady was Salt Lake’s leading scorer with 24 points, followed by Sophia Hepworth. The Bruins were able to reach the foul line, hitting on 21 of 28 attempts.
The Bruins (10-8, 1-4 SWAC) look to find the shooting touch as the host #10 North Idaho on January 27 in Bruin Arena.
MEN
A monstrous second half by Salt Lake led to the three point win over Snow College. The Bruins went into half time down 17 points but pressure defense and clutch shooting allowed Salt Lake to battle back. The win puts Salt Lake’s record at 16-4 overall and 3-2 in Scenic West action.
Snow College had no answer for Jayson Chessman down low. Chessman led Salt Lake with 21 points and eight rebounds while Darian Cartharn scored 14 point on 3 of six from behind the arc.
Salt Lake (16-4, 3-2 SWAC) returns to Bruin Arena to host #10 North Idaho and #9 Southern Idaho on January 27th and 28th.
