Enrollment procedures evolve with increased enrollment

Enrollment Services welcomes all students, faculty, staff and community to the beginning of Fall 2011!  With enrollment increases, there are some changes continuing in Enrollment Services:

Admission Application Deadline Fall 2011 August 19 and Spring 2012 January 4

The last day for submitting admission applications for Fall Semester is August 19.  Fall semester classes begin August 24 and include the full 15-week term and a 3-week term.  The last day for submitting admission applications for Spring Semester is January 4.  Spring semester classes begin January 9.

Waitlist

The waitlist option is available to students registering for a course section filled to capacity (i.e., a closed class).  Students registering for a closed class will be offered the opportunity to be put on a waitlist.  Students may view waitlist status on the MyPage Student Portal.  When a registered student drops a seat in a closed class, the waitlisted student will be notified by email that a seat is open in the class.  Once notified by email that a seat is available, the waitlisted student has 24 hours to register for the course.  If registration is not finalized within the 24-hour period, the student is dropped from the waitlist.  The next waitlisted student is then notified by email that a seat is available.  Students are offered an open seat based on their waitlist position.  Students on the waitlist are not officially registered in the class.

Add Period Enforced

During the add period, it is the responsibility of the student to add classes through the SLCC student portal.  If classes are full, students may attempt registration periodically through the MyPage student portal to find an open seat.  To better serve our increased population, students are required to complete registration within the designated add periods.

Graduation Applications Due

Students looking forward to Spring 2012 graduation need to complete and submit their graduation applications by October 14, 2011.

Applications for Fall 2011 graduation are due at this time for processing.  Please submit graduation applications at your earliest convenience.  The October 14 deadline allows review of course requirements before Spring registration.  Students seeking assistance with graduation eligibility may contact Academic Advising.  Graduation applications are available online at www.slcc.edu/graduation.  Submit applications with a payment of $25 to Enrollment Services at any of our campus sites.
