The Grand collaborates with local performers and companies, while also coordinating with Salt Lake Community College’s performing art students. Not only does the Grand offer theatrical performances, but it is also home to academic and educational halls, dance concerts, movie screenings and more.

“The Grand Theatre serves as the community’s professional theatre,” says Seth Miller, the interim director for The Grand.

The 2019-20 lineup includes five productions, plus one holiday package which features three different shows. The first production, “A Wall Apart,” opened Thursday.

Located at South City Campus, the Grand Theatre serves as an educational tool for students, with professional faculty and state-of-the-art digital technology. The theatre is vital to performing arts both for those looking for a career in that pathway, and for community members to engage and support local talent.

The Grand has open call auditions for each production, and anyone can audition for any show. Box office manager Brianna “Breezy” Bassett encourages those who are interested in auditioning for a show to download the Grand Theatre app.

“App users have first dibs on audition times and schedules before we list them on our website,” says Bassett.

The Grand Theatre’s box office offers discounts for shows to SLCC students and staff, military and veterans, high school and junior high students, and SLCC alumni.

SLCC students receive one complimentary ticket and up to three tickets at half price for each show. SLCC faculty and staff receive up to four half-price tickets for each show.

Visit the Grand Theatre website for more information.
