The School of Health Sciences, located on the Jordan Campus, is a dynamic place. We are all about educating students to be a part of the world that keeps people healthy or helps them get healthy.
The School of Health Sciences has 9 programs, which pretty much cover a large section of health care including Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Mortuary Science, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiology Technology and Surgical Technology.
The School of Allied Health is proud of its Dental Hygiene Program. As they tell us, it’s an exciting profession that is spreading by “Word of Mouth”!
The mission of the dental hygiene program focuses on developing a well-rounded graduate with effective interpersonal communication skills capable of exercising critical thinking, leadership, professional judgment and the ability to assume the role as an oral health care professional.
The associates degree program is a 64-week program consisting of 4 semesters for the duration of 16 weeks per semester. The program requires full-time attendance, Monday through Friday.
Students are under direct supervision of Registered Dental Hygienists and licensed Dentists during the clinical experience. Students are expected to participate in external clinical rotations and community service projects. Graduates will accrue a total of 89 credits.
