SLCC student Brandon Walker contributed his photo titled “Seattle Sucks” to the Fall 2016 issue of the Folio art and literary magazine. Folio publishes a collection of original works by SLCC students every fall and spring semester. (Brandon Walker)

Folio is calling on Salt Lake Community College students to share their creative works.

The student art and literary magazine features written and multimedia projects contributed primarily by SLCC students. Individuals can begin submitting items for the Spring 2017 edition.

Any current SLCC student, faculty or staff member can submit up to 10 original pieces of poetry, literature, visual art, photography and audio-video. Publications usually revolve around a particular theme, which can vary based on the type of submissions received.

All submissions are judged by Folio staff, with approved entries being featured in the online or print edition. Contributors may also be invited to premiere their work at the Folio release party, which is regularly held in the AAB commons area at Taylorsville Redwood Campus.

The magazine was launched in 1999 as an outlet for SLCC artists and writers. Since Folio is curated for students by students, it has become a recognized peer publication.

Folio has been recognized by the Community College Humanities Association, placing third for the CCHA Southwest division’s literary magazine competition in 2014.

Visit the Folio website for more information on submission guidelines and release dates.
