With the daily hustle and bustle that comes with being in college, students have to deal with all kinds of stressors.

The Center for Health and Counseling offers a fast and convenient way to get medical help. The center provides thousands of Salt Lake Community College students with a wide range of services, including massage therapy, counseling and screenings.

Dental discount
SLCC has partnered with the Dental Benefit Program to help students save an average of 20 percent on their personal dental services.

Many students are unaware of the health services available to them at SLCC.

Tatiana Burton, health promotion manager for the Center for Health and Counseling, says that students often claim that they “had no idea they [the center] was even here.”

Because students have busy schedules and don’t always make time to see a doctor, the Center for Health and Counseling is ready to give students much-needed, easy-to-access health care.

Massage

Massage services are available at the Taylorsville Redwood and South City campuses. Students receive one hour-long massage for $10 per semester and $30 for any additional massage within a given semester. Students must present their college ID number and payment at time of service.

Counseling

Students can seek counseling for many different reasons, and SLCC offers a safe environment for students to talk with trained professionals. Students pay $10 per appointment and must complete an information form prior to the first consultation.

CHC locations
Taylorsville Redwood Campus, STC room 035
Jordan Campus, Student Pavilion room 202
South City Campus, room 1-143

Clinic

The Center for Health and Counseling manages a student-oriented clinic that administers immunizations and STI testing. The center also offers general medical assistance, including physicals, family planning and urgent care concerns. Each appointment costs $10 and a student ID is required.

Any SLCC student who wants to schedule an appointment can contact the nearest Center for Health and Counseling office for details.
