Letter to the Editor: Job Fair feedback

I really liked the Job Fair that that the college is having today. I have been a student for a while now at SLCC and this Job Fair was a lot better than the others that I have been to at this college in the past.

I just wish the college could get more employers hiring students for more part-time work after morning classes.

I bet a lot of students are like me, looking for a 20 to 25 hour a week part-time job between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. for 3 days a week and Saturdays. That schedule would allow most college students like me that are serious about getting an education enough time to do our schoolwork.

This is a much better Job Fair, but most of the jobs are full-time, and part-time jobs are after 9 p.m. for more than 25 hours a week. That’s hard when you’re going to college.

If you can do it and still get an 84% or better in all your classes to keep your grant for college, my hats off to you.
