The No. 1-ranked Salt Lake Community College softball team continued its dominance on the diamond this past weekend.

Playing at home on the newly named Norma Carr Field, the Bruins (45-7, 35-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference) swept both ends of two doubleheaders versus College of Southern Idaho (42-17, 28-11 SWAC) on Friday (10-5, 9-3) and Saturday (10-2, 5-4).

Salt Lake’s Megan Reed earned SWAC Player of the Week honors for her performance against the Eagles, hitting 10-15 in the four-game series with two doubles, two home runs and 9 RBIs.

With the sweep, SLCC extends their current winning streak to 11 games.

As the top seed in the SWAC, the Bruins earn a first-round bye as host of the Region 18 Tournament. SLCC will play the winner of Western Nevada College and Snow College at Norma Carr Field on Thursday, May 7.
