The Salt Lake Community College baseball team, currently 19-5 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC), traveled to Rangely, CO this weekend to play Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC).
SLCC will look to keep its lead in the SWAC, which currently stands at 2.5 games over Western Nevada.
Before heading to Colorado, the Bruins earned back-to-back victories over Southern Nevada on April 12, winning three of the four games of the recent series between these two clubs.
SLCC defeated CNCC handily in Friday’s double-header, 9-2 in game 1 and 12-4 in game 2.
Saturday’s double-header begins at noon, with the second game starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
After a brief stint on the road, the Bruins will travel back to Cate Field to end the regular season against Southern Idaho on April 25 and 26. This will wrap things up for SLCC as they are on a quest to bring home the first championship crown in team history.
The Region 18 baseball championship will begin on May 7.
