On Saturday, Jan. 25, people who want to improve the air quality in Utah will gather on the Capitol steps at noon to express their desires. The rally will start for some at the Temple Square Trax station at 11:15 a.m. where people will walk up the hill.
SLCC graduate Carl Ingwell is one of the organizers of the event and the founder of Utah Clean Air Now!, as well as the University Student Clean Air Network.
“We’re such a fossil fuel driven culture,” says Ingwell who cites that our cities are spread out as part of the problem. “Our public transit fails a good number of people that aren’t going downtown or to the University [of Utah].”
Ingwell urges students to get involved in politics.
“If you are about an issue, start talking about it,” says Ingwell. “It’s a lot of fun, and it’s rewarding.”
