‘Hercules’ Kevin Sorbo talks acting at Salt Lake Comic Con 2013

Kevin Sorbo, of Hercules the television show, has a place in Park City because he loves to golf. As a guest at the Salt lake Comic Con (SL Comic Con), Sorbo took questions from the fans.

Hercules is his favorite role because it is the role that started it all, and it has become more popular worldwide than Baywatch.

“I called it Baywatch B.C.,” says Sorbo.

To get the part, Sorbo went through seven auditions in two months. When it got down to the last couple of auditions, the casting people asked if he would shave his chest and stomach.

“I’m sorry, Sam. I thought you wanted a man for this role,” says Sorbo.

Sorbo did about 90 percent of the stunts for his role in Hercules.

When Sorbo was 11, he saw The Merchant of Venice at the Guthrie Theater in Minnesota. Even though he had no idea what they were saying, when his mother asked him what he thought, he said that he wanted to do that. She gave him the “typical” mother reaction: “That’s nice, honey.”

Sorbo has done about 47 films in the last six or seven years with Gallows Road, Storm Rider and Survivor slated to be released in the near future.
