  1. Don’t get me wrong or anything, I personally think it’s good. Especially with grand ideas of saving tax payers money. The main thing we need is to educate the public on how long crimes should be considered or basically eliminate records completely after a while. The real problem is “people’s safety” has become more important than the people. How likely is it that I could help these prisoners get educations. Should I go to prison so I can get an education?

  2. I feel like people will judge prisoners for their crimes even if they have an education or say they’re changed people. This is one of the main reasons that prisoners are likely to re-enter the prison system. It’s really tough to live a life that people won’t let you live because they don’t believe you. A lot of them are also really bad people possibly that you could just be educating to make even worse. In today’s world, everyone’s background is basically public knowledge. Simply put, younger candidates with similar education and no, or little background are going to get jobs over returning prisoners that may not even have anything or a place to live. There are clauses in all applications that say these things may not bar them, but in certain fields it definitely does and likely in almost all. However, being in prison makes money because of government grants and stipends just like the prison education system is. I say take your dirty money, and help people to pay for their homes and educations. If it be good returning prisoners, so be it, but I would imagine the money is better spent somewhere else.
