It’s not too late to be part of this semester’s edition of Folio, the student-produced literary magazine at Salt Lake Community College.
A staple of SLCC since 1999, Folio is an award-winning collection that features content produced exclusively by SLCC students, faculty and staff. Folio staff is currently taking submissions for the spring 2018 edition through Friday, March 9.
Folio is published in both print and online formats. The magazine is assembled by student writers, artists and editors. Together, this is a showcase for the talent and powerful voices of the SLCC community.
According to design editor Heather Graham, original works of all genres are being accepted, including all literature styles, photography, visual art, and any motion visual work that can be delivered in a digital format.
Folio has provided detailed submission guidelines, including acceptable file formats, for each category. Submissions must be the original work of the artist.
The spring 2018 edition is set to hit campuses on Thursday, April 19. A Folio release party will be held that night which will feature a selection of works to be read by student artists.
Folio archives its online versions on its website, and past print editions can be found in the Publication Center at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
For anyone interested in being part of the creative Folio staff, consider taking ENGL 1830, Literary Magazine Studies. This class will be taught Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at the Taylorsville campus.
