For those who have been waiting to see what happens when two superheroes battle for supremacy, “Captain America: Civil War” delivers in epic fashion.

Filled with action, drama and humor, the movie revolves around Captain America, played by Chris Evans, and Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. The two heavyweights butt heads over whether or not The Avengers should be monitored and governed by a power higher than themselves.

“Civil War” is the third installment of the “Captain America” franchise and picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” leaves off.

Anthony and Joe Russo did an excellent job directing their star-studded cast. Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) turn in outstanding performances.

The film also introduces some long-missed characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Spider-Man.

Tom Holland becomes what the Marvel Cinematic Universe always needed Spider-Man to be: a goofy smart-ass with a big heart. Any fans who were leery of his casting will be pleasantly surprised by the superb acting.

Chadwick Boseman also brings wonderful depth and integrity to his role as the Black Panther.

“Civil War” is basically a mini-“Avengers” movie, complete with all of the drama, humor and pulse-pounding action. The fight scenes were realistic and choreographed beautifully.

The interaction between the characters is what makes this film stand out.

The banter between Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson) and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) is a must-watch, and hopefully foreshadows the writing for future Marvel movies. The film also seems to establish roots for long-awaited projects like “Black Panther” and “Spider-Man Homecoming.”

This film is a must see for every superhero fan and any Marvel Universe fanatic.

“Captain America: Civil War” is so amazing that audiences don’t even need to see it in 3D; it easily stands alone in any format. This is the best Marvel movie to date and will give audiences everything they could have hoped for.

Rating: 5/5
