Tuition may be on the rise once again and Salt Lake Community College wants its students to know why.
SLCC invites students to attend the Truth in Tuition event on Wednesday, March 2. School officials will hold presentations and question-and-answer sessions to educate students on the budgetary process and what goes into deciding an increase.
A tuition increase is divided into two tiers: a statewide increase of 0 to 5 percent and an SLCC-specific increase of 0 to 3 percent for 2016-17. Full-time resident undergraduate students could pay up to $125 more per semester if the highest rate increases take effect.
The Truth In Tuition event begins at 11 a.m. in the Student Event Center at Taylorsville Redwood Campus. Anyone who is unable to attend in person can watch a live stream on the TV screens at every major SLCC campus.
