Thursday, April 17

Dear Diary,

We hope things were good at home. Ha ha, just kidding, we don’t care! We’re here at FanX! Opening day of FanX, and what a day it was. First on the agenda was the press conference. Funny thing that happened during the press conference was receiving texts and phone calls about The Great Shakeout. No one in the room cared. We were all focused on Jason David Frank taking selfies with all the other celebs on stage. After everyone spoke, it was time for interviews. Two things were able to get crossed off the list HE made, and one thing was able to get crossed off the list SHE made for things that we were looking forward to at FanX. HE was able to meet and interview Jason David Frank. SHE was just excited for the entire press conference. But HE also got his wish and got to tell Carl Grimes, “Stay in the house, Carl!” We even snapped a picture of us doing so. After the press conference ended, we headed out to the main floor and we were in Cosplay Heaven (yes, Diary, it really exists). We attended a couple of panels including one with Sean Patrick Flanery and David Della Rocco of The Boondock Saints. SHE was ecstatic that an audience member asked Sean to call Norman Reedus while doing the panel. To everyone’s surprise, he did! But sadly, Norman didn’t pick up. But just the thought was very exciting. The highlight of the Thursday panels was definitely at the end of the Star Trek one. Brent Spiner announced that Sir Patrick Stewart would be attending FanX on Saturday. To be in the room, and almost go deaf from all the screaming was definitely a one of a kind experience. If anyone sees us and we cannot hear that well, now you know what to blame it on. Worth it.

Friday, April 18

Dear Diary,

What a great day today was! Most of the day, we walked around getting more cosplayers on video. Fast forward to the evening, and we were at the entrance of The Hotel and Club Elevate, waiting for the Red Carpet Event hosted by X96. We waited and took video of the attendees as they entered the club. And let us just say how awesome it was to see everyone being treated like celebrities. It was an absolute blast seeing people have fun with friends, and everyone getting the “red carpet treatment”. SHE got to snap a selfie with David Della Rocco in the front of the club, and HE got video of Ioan Gruffudd, Sean Patrick Flanery, David Della Rocco, among others. The only sad thing that occurred during all of Friday was our experience at the club. We were not able to get as much footage as we hoped of the partying inside. Rules and regulations of the club did not allow us to capture all of the fun. Curse you, rules!

Saturday, April 19

Dear Diary,

We have to mention something… Last year during Comic Con, Saturday was a total nightmare to walk around in. We were expecting the same for this Saturday, but surprisingly, it was the most fun day. Maybe it was because we got excellent parking, or because our daughter got to meet and take a picture with Karen Gillan. Another thing to cross of the list SHE made. Or maybe it was because SHE was wearing her Consuela costume, and man was that a hit! Whatever it was, it was the best day. Even though we didn’t get to attend Sir Patrick Stewart’s panel, it was still a blast. He did drive right past us on his way to take photos, so that counts as meeting him, right? We ended up staying the whole day and got really funny footage of Consuela cleaning. So, keep an eye out for a video on that. We are going to be working non-stop on our cosplay video, so stayed tuned. Oh wait, you’re a Diary, and you can’t see. Hahaha… Whoa, I just felt the room shake! Was that you, Diary? You mad, bro?
