The Utah Board of Regents has appointed Dr. Deneece Huftalin as the new interim president at Salt Lake Community College. Huftalin will replace President Cynthia Bioteau who is leaving to become the next president of Florida State College at Jacksonville in January.
“Deneece not only is one of the most optimistic leaders I know in college education, but she is completely devoted to helping students achieve success and recognize their greatest potential,” says Paul Cardall, SLCC graduate and award winning pianist, lecturer and author.
Huftalin has acted as vice president of SLCC Student Services for over twenty years. Huftalin has also been serving as Director of Academic and Career Advising and as Dean of Students.
According to a news release from the Utah System of Higher Education, Huftalin will provide a smooth transition for SLCC with her administrative skills and commitment to students’ success.
