Explore the Clark Planetarium

Race through the galaxy in search of treasure or simply sit back, relax and watch comets whizz by, learn about the planets and all the others wonders of the universe. Clark Planetarium, located in the Gateway Mall in downtown Salt Lake, offers people of all ages, families, couples and students.

See light shows with interesting animation effects set to music including hits from U2, exhibits at the IMAX that are always free, including Hubble 3D and Under the Sea in 3D. In the Hansen Dome Theater, movie such as Black Holes and Secret of the Cardboard Rocket are shown. Attack of the Space Pirates is for all ages and is a live action adventure that takes viewers through the galaxy in search of treasure.

Open 363 days out of the year, the Clark Planetarium is an educational, entertaining and unique means of spending the time with family and friends.

Designed to inspire all visitors to become interesting in learning about the bounty and mystery that exists all around us and beyond, the planetarium offers a wealth of opportunity and knowledge. There are even school and community programs for kids, information on Star Parties, news from NASA and more educational resources, and of course, directions, show times and tickets, visit clarkplanetarium.org.

Open 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m, Monday-Wednesday, Thursdays until 9:00 p.m., Friday-Saturday until 11:00 p.m. and Sundays until 6:00 p.m., there’s usually always something showing, something new to learn and see at the planetarium.

So, for Earth Day, see an exciting new show in the domed theater of the IMAX or learn about meteorites, the reasons for the seasons and the international space station for free. There are activities, merchandise and much more, waiting to be explored.
