Earth day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the earth’s environment. It is celebrated in many countries; the United States celebrates on Apr 22. The Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world in 2012 and with all the natural disasters we encounter in earth it is really important to stand up for the Earth. It’s time to change our behavior not only for us but for new generations. That’s why I am really proud to give you some tips that each of us can realize and save the planet. Everyone one can go green and make a change.

Turning off appliances when you are not using them. I know that unplugging the TV and cable box daily is really difficult because you would constantly be reprogramming menus and timers; but unplugging other energy hogs like computers, cell phone chargers, or an AC unit can reduce your electricity bill and save energy.

According to the US department of energy, sticking to the speed limit when you drive will help you to save up to $300 yearly filling up your tank and save the earth’s fossil fuels.

Buy biodegradable products to save to save landfill space.

At home you can fill up the bath instead of taking a 20 minutes long shower. You can also take a five minute shower. It will save water.

You can also green your bathing habits by installing a low -flow showerhead.

Using eco-friendly forms of transport, like your feet, your bike or public transportation for example when you want to go to the supermarket if you living 0ne or two blocks away from the store.

Signing up for carbon offsets or paying for trees to be plant to fight greenhouse gases.

Buy a hybrid car if you can afford one. In case of you can’t, buying an older car that get at least 30 miles per gallon is more carbon free than a usual car.

Recycle your cane and plastics bottles will help the planet because when you reused the same thing we save energy but also trees.

Turn the light off when you are not in want room of your house it is very simple to do and it will slash your electric bill.

Using recipients when you want to wash your fruits or you veggies it will save water which usually pouring down when you rinsed them.

Eat local fruits and veggies.

I do think that good behavior are contagious so if you show how easy is greening up is, and then friends, neighbors, and family members are more likely to do the same things. We can all modify our behavior to save our world.
