Native American Film and Lecture Series

The Native American Film and Lecture Series starts Monday April 5th and will end Thursday April 8th.

ALL Events are Free and Open to the Public! Join us as we celebrate our Culture!

Monday 5th – Film NightTIME: 2pm – 4pm Warrior: The Life of Leonard Peltier

4pm – 6pm Turquiose Rose

6pm -7pm ESPN short film – Her Story: Shoni Schimmel

Tuesday 6th – Navajo Code TalkersTIME: 2pm – 4pm, 6pm – 8pm Navajo Code Talkers Bill Toledo and Frank Chee Willetto

Wednesday 7th – Guest SpeakerTIME: 4pm – 5pm Rodger Williams from Utah’s Indian Child Welfare Act will bea guest speaker at SLCC and share his story with us. We will discuss Indian Boarding Schools and Assimilation Efforts.

Thursday 8th – Native American TraditionsTIME: 2pm – 2:30pm Veronica Yellowhair – Fancy Shawl Dancer

3pm – 4:30pm The American Indian Dance Theater: Finding the Circle

6pm – 8pm Hoop Dancer & open discussion with Jay Micheal Crank
