For the second year in a row, the Kenneth Cole Black party at the Sky Lodge was the hot-spot in Park City opening weekend. And for the second year in a row, Kenneth Cole himself came to host the event.
Members of Gen Art, press, and celebrities all converged for what has now become the annual “it” event of Sundance. Lines again formed going most of the way down the street with folks anxious to get in, and for those who were able to attend, there was no disappointment. The Sky Lodge was packed as treats were served, drinks flowed, and music tracks blared from special celebrity guest “DJ Mom Jeans” (Danny Masterson).
This year’s party was for the new scent Kenneth Cole Vintage Black, and celebrated several renowned people from independent film. This year’s honorees included Diego Luna, Michael Shannon, Juliette Lewis and Melissa Leo. All were in attendance at the event, and were recognized for their accomplishments. Each of them offered a generous amount of time on the red carpet, posing for pictures and answering any questions that media members had.
As usual, the party flooded with other popular celebrities. Some of the individuals who came to join in the fun included 2008 Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, actor Wilmer Valderrama, actress Laura Harring, and actor Gabriel Sunday.
The new Kenneth Cole Black fragrance was gifted to attendees of the party, and anxiously taken by all exiting guests. This scent adds an entirely new dimension to the current Black collection, and should easily become one of the brand’s bestsellers. The fragrance contrasts masculinity with metropolitan modernity, delivering a fresh, citrus woody scent that is timeless for anyone who wears it.
Most party goers stayed until late into the night, making a place to stand or sit throughout the night a challenge. As we left the party, there was still a long line of individuals clamoring to get in, and a large group of observers without party invitations watching the event unfold from a distance. Once again, Kenneth has proven that he knows how to throw the best party at Sundance.
