Vans Warped Tour quickly approaching

Summer is finally here – which means rising temperatures, sunshine, tan lines and music festivals. One festival in particular is Vans Warped Tour.

Warped Tour is not only a music festival but an extreme sports festival as well that travels throughout the United States and parts of Canada. People gather in venues such as parking lots and fields to listen to their favorite bands play.

Warped Tour has many sponsors, including the BMX/skateboarding shoe manufacturer Vans. The show used to be a platform for only punk rock music, but it has expanded types of music including metal-core, alternative rock, post-hardcore, electronica, emo and Christian rock bands.

With many tour dates in dozens of cities, it’s very convenient as well as inexpensive. Tickets can range anywhere from $25 to $45.

Yearly Warped Tour go-er Brittney Ann said, “You really get the most bang for your buck. With bigger and better known artists, you can pay up to $100 for a ticket. But for Warped Tour, I paid only $30 and will see multiple bands who are so talented.”

Warped Tour has a variety of bands including Jack’s Mannequin, The Devil Wears Prada, 3OH!3, Gym Class Heroes and Paramore, just to name a few.

“I personally can’t wait for Reliant K. Their music is brilliant,” Ann goes on to say. “The one thing I’m not looking forward to is the heat along with crazy acting people. But that goes along with every concert.”

While Warped Tour is known to be a crazy event, there are ways to be prepared and safe. First and foremost, water is very important to have throughout the whole day. It’s very easy to become dehydrated in the heat. Make sure to bring a backpack to carry money, water, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, cell-phone, camera etc.

With these tips, Warped Tour is a fun, popular music festival featuring lots of musical talent. Visit vanswarpedtour.com to see the line-up and to purchase tickets. Warped Tour comes to Salt Lake City, Utah August 6, 2011.
