5 terrible Halloween treats

Candy corn
Simply put, candy corn does not belong in a trick-or-treat bag.

Halloween is tonight, and the little kid in us is screaming with excitement. However, there is just one problem: when we get candies or treats we may not like. Here are the top five treats you probably don’t want in your Halloween candy basket.

Candy Corn

Candy Corn is the candy that represents the theme of Halloween. Let’s be honest, no one ever wants candy corn in their candy basket. Receiving candy corn is like your mother trying to give you unwanted relationship advice. Deep down inside we don’t want to be rude or cause any drama so we say, “thank you” and move along. This is why candy corn deserves to be in a trash can rather than dropped in anyone’s candy basket.

Toothbrush

Everyone has had that neighbor who’s a dentist that passes out tooth brushes every year. Halloween is the only time your parents will give you the “okay” to have huge amounts of sugar. As children going trick or treating, we don’t want to think about dental hygiene. We want to show off our cool Halloween costumes. Most importantly, we want to brag to our friends about which candy we got and see who got the most candy at the end of the night. A tooth brush thrown into a candy basket does not scream Halloween one bit. The only thing it screams is not to return to your house next year.

Candied Apples

Let’s face it; no one wants apples for Halloween. Parents were always cautious of your candy because there are plenty of stories of people putting harmful things in apples. The thought of receiving a candy apple for Halloween is not really surprising, but let’s be real, we will not eat it anyway because we want the good stuff.

Spice Drops

Spice Drops are a gummy candy that is hard to chew without spitting it out. This candy is hard to swallow, much like taking cough medicine as a child. The bitter taste is awfully disgusting. The thought of chewing this candy makes me want to throw up. Spice drops taste like a battery just shocked your tongue.

Mints

Halloween is a time where your parents give you permission to get hooked on sugar. Mints are not exactly a candy that will give you that “sugar rush” that you have been waiting for. But with all due respect, Halloween deserves better than just mints. Mints are what your grandmother gives you for treats at her house and they aren’t what anyone should be passing out as Halloween candy.
