About a month ago, I heard a story about a girl who wrote down 1,000 things she is thankful for. After hearing this, I decided to write down some things that are important to me—to make this upcoming Thanksgiving more meaningful.
The more I began to think about or see things that I normally would take for granted, the more I realized how fortunate I am. Little things like a beautiful sunset, stars in a clear night sky or a warm bed made me stop and realize that life is a beautiful thing. I may not have the most perfect life, but I have a roof over my head and food to eat, which is just enough.
I feel this Thanksgiving will be better than the rest, because I have taken the time to realize that this holiday is more than just a turkey and food on a table.
