Welcome to what will be a fantastic academic year! To all our new students – we’re glad you’ve joined us, and if you’re a returning student, it’s good to see you again! Your experiences at Salt Lake Community College are becoming part of your story, and I am pleased you chose SLCC to play such a significant role in your life’s narrative.
So many people who attend college tell and retell that story – about how they made it, what it took and what it was like to graduate. New students, this is your first chapter – the excitement will build as you crescendo toward that academic or career epiphany. Please remember we have advisors, faculty and staff, including myself, who would be happy to add clarity to choices ahead. We are here to help.
For those students who are joining us again this fall, that climactic moment when you don a cap and gown in front of friends and family might be coming into clearer view. Let us know how we can help you reach your goal.
While walking the halls on our campuses, I get to meet the fighters, the dreamers, the doers – our wonderful students, each with his or her own unique story. These narratives drive me, and the hundreds of SLCC faculty and staff, to bring our best every day to support you and your goals.
We educate and train more than 60,000 students each year. The incredible patchwork of backgrounds and experiences students bring to SLCC makes our college the most diverse in the state – a source of much pride for all who work here.
Again, thank you for choosing SLCC. Our story is your story – and we are fortunate to be part of yours. Best of luck, and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
Go Bruins!
