FanX: The weekend is for celebrities

The Friday and Saturday of FanX were huge days for the convention considering Thursday’s news of Sir Patrick Stewart attending the convention on the coming Saturday.

Audience sizes increased to the point of creating flowing rivers of costumed individuals in the artist and vendor areas as well as the first floor, but the convention center was never extremely packed to the point of claustrophobia.

The convention was so easy to navigate that it was hard to believe that the audience size had reached numbers of over 100,000 attendees. The increased numbers can be attributed to such celebrities like Jason David Frank staying for the entire weekend rather than just Thursday, Karen Gillian entering the convention late Thursday night, and the anticipation for Nathan Fillion and Sir Patrick Stewart Saturday arrival.

Panels were plentiful again with many guests hosting them, more live podcasts. Overall, the convention felt very similar to Thursday, even with the increased weekend numbers.

The biggest difference had to be the available late night activities such as the X96 Red Carpet event on Friday night as well as the FanX Pub Crawl on Saturday night.
